COLNAGO A1r

This aluminum frame takes on a new form to reach a higher performance level. Every feature has been thoroughly studied and designed, following the legendary Colnago criteria. Speed, fluidity, stability and lightness are in its DNA. The aesthetic is enhanced through the use of new construction and welding technologies. Particular attention is placed on the orientation of tube junctions, to ensure maximum torsional rigidity without sacrificing comfort. Following this same train of thought, the choice was made to use a 27.2mm diameter seatpost – smaller and more flexible, but also lighter than a larger diameter post. Also for optimal comfort and weight savings, the choice was made to use a fork with a carbon fiber steerer tube. A press-fit bottom bracket and semi- integrated cable routing are also prominent features on this new frame.

FORK

Carbon fiber construction combines strength and lightness, and significantly reduces vibrations from the road surface. Colnago goes above and beyond in safety test protocols on forks, ensuring rider security

HEAD TUBE

Colnago’s tapered head tube design is aimed at creating a solid front end that contributes to handling precision and safety.

SMOOTH WELDING

Linear, precise, technical – the uniform aesthetic is flawless.

BOTTOM BRACKET

Bottom bracket bearings are installed directly into the frame. Thanks to this system, the bottom bracket shell is wider, and can consequently change the design of the down tube – making it wider and stiffer. It also adds to ease of maintenance.

BRAKING SYSTEM

Standard, traditional caliper – the right amount of power, combined with ease of use and ease of maintenance.

INTERNAL CABLE-ROUTING

The latest generation of Colnago bikes offers perfect balance between performance and aesthetics. Internal cable-routing offers a modern look and exceptional performance – with a flow that creates the best connection between the levers and derailleurs.

Road Bike

The term road bicycle is used to describe bicycles built for traveling at speed on paved roads. Some sources use the term to mean racing bicycle. Other sources specifically exclude racing bicycles from the definition, using the term to mean a bicycle of a similar style but built more for endurance and less the fast bursts of speed desired in a racing bicycle; as such, they usually have more gear combinations and fewer hi-tech racing features. Certain of these bicycles have been referred to as 'sportive' bicycles to distinguish them from racing bicycles.

Mountain Bike

A mountain bike or mountain bicycle (abbreviated Mtn Bike, MTB; or ATB, for all-terrain bicycle) is a bicycle designed for off-road cycling. Mountain bikes share similarities with other bikes, but incorporate features designed to enhance durability and performance in rough terrain. These typically include suspension on the frame and fork, large knobby tires, more durable heavy duty wheels, more powerful brakes, and lower gear ratios needed for steep grades with poor traction.

Single Speed Bike

A single-speed bicycle is a type of bicycle with a single gear ratio. These bicycles are without derailleur gears, hub gearing or other methods for varying the gear ratio of the bicycle.
