CLD COLNAGO

The CLD frame has been designed and built for women cyclists. It is a carbon fiber monocoque, a design that makes it distinctly different from all the other frames in the range. The main difference between it and a classic Colnago frame is in the geometry. The CLD is tailored for women – particularly noticeable in the shorter top tube. This allows a position on the bike that’s more compact, efficient, and comfortable. The tapered head tube, however, aligns this frame with other Colnago’s in the racing range. A focus was also placed on the choice of components; shorter stems, narrower bars, and a very comfortable saddle. The CLD is available in four sizes: 40s, 43s, 46s, and 49s.

HEAD TUBE

CLD has a tapered head tube with a diameter of 1 1 /8” on top, and 1 1/4” bottom. With this solution we have increased the strength and rigidity of the frontal portion of the frame and, accordingly, the legendary Colnago ride-quality. The conical base of the steering, in fact, is better interfaced with the fork head oversized.

TOP TUBE

The CLD’s top tube is shorter when compared to that of a standard geometry. Why? A shorter tube allows a position that’s more balanced and very comfortable, as well as offering greater control of the bicycle. In addition, the relaxed position of the cervical column, along with the shoulders and arms, improves comfort on long journeys.

COMPONENTS

For this frame Colnago has arranged the use of specific components for women. Stems and bars optimize the riding position and, consequently, improve the performance. The saddle is a SI Lady X1, designed for the specific needs of women cyclists.

Road Bike

The term road bicycle is used to describe bicycles built for traveling at speed on paved roads. Some sources use the term to mean racing bicycle. Other sources specifically exclude racing bicycles from the definition, using the term to mean a bicycle of a similar style but built more for endurance and less the fast bursts of speed desired in a racing bicycle; as such, they usually have more gear combinations and fewer hi-tech racing features. Certain of these bicycles have been referred to as 'sportive' bicycles to distinguish them from racing bicycles.

Mountain Bike

A mountain bike or mountain bicycle (abbreviated Mtn Bike, MTB; or ATB, for all-terrain bicycle) is a bicycle designed for off-road cycling. Mountain bikes share similarities with other bikes, but incorporate features designed to enhance durability and performance in rough terrain. These typically include suspension on the frame and fork, large knobby tires, more durable heavy duty wheels, more powerful brakes, and lower gear ratios needed for steep grades with poor traction.

Single Speed Bike

A single-speed bicycle is a type of bicycle with a single gear ratio. These bicycles are without derailleur gears, hub gearing or other methods for varying the gear ratio of the bicycle.
